Recolor® Paints located in Hanover, Massachusetts was founded in 2009 by two women with backgrounds in painting, design and biochemistry who recognized a need to make use of surplus paint (which by many estimates amounts to tens of millions of gallons a year in the US). 

Recolor’s goal is to provide an environmentally friendly paint product, using post-consumer materials.  Our women-owned business collects leftover paint from cities and towns, property managers, paint contractors, business owners and homeowners. Utilizing a process that involves rigorous screening and quality control, we produce a premium paint that is 100% recycled content, the highest recycled content available, thereby maximizing environmental benefits such as, natural resource conservation, reduction of waste, reduction of air and water pollution and a reduced need for landfill space.  Our paint produced under our Recolor® brand is a great value for a greener future.  Recolor is sold in over 50 ReStores up and down the east coast.


























Recolor Paints are available in wall, exterior and chalk paint.  Wall and exterior paints are available

in quart, gallon and 5-gallon sizes in 20 different colors, including primer, ceiling paint, flat and semi-gloss white in addition to our great offerings of popular wall colors.

Chalk finish is paint mixed with an additive to give it a flat finish that is great for painting furniture and for creating a surface which can be written on with chalk then erased -- to create a 'chalkboard'.  
Chalk finish is ideal to use on furniture because it can be used with minimal prep and has exceptional adhesion properties. A light sanding and wipe down is really all that is needed to prepare a piece for painting. Our 20 bright Chalk colors are a fun way to personalize and upcycle all the great furniture found in the Habitat for Humanity ReStores, like the one at 100 Chelmsford Road in Billerica, Massachusetts.
